Canadian racer participation during the recent NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals in Minnesota was again significant and we have a photo extra to prove it!….
Ken and Scott Murray (from Winnipeg) raced their very pretty looking T/D at Brainerd. They qualified #5 (at 6.236 secs) and then deservingly received the event’s “Best Appearing Car” award!
Alberta index racing power Ken Mostowich raced both his S/C Camaro and S/G Corvette at the Lucas Oil Nationals.
Thunder Bay Ontario is home base for Rob Reserver’s very cool ’68 Chevelle Top Sportsman machine.
The Manitoba-based injected nitro cars owned by Clif Bakx and Doug Doucette were both entered at BIR. Driven by Gord Gingles and Alan Bradshaw respectively — they both fell victim to eventual event winner Joey Severence during eliminations.
We like this very clean looking ’71 Demon D/SA raced by Ron Glowa from St. Andrews MB.
A newcomer to the NHRA national event racing scene was this ’93 Achieva SS/DM entered by James Nicol from Pilot Butte SK.
Daryl Forrest (from Winnipeg) raced his nice looking dragster in TD eliminator.
Another 2-car Canadian team was fielded by Manitoba’s Kevin Dyck for Super Comp and Super Gas eliminators.
Regina’s Grant Singer entered his high-flying SS/BS ’90 Camaro for Super Stock.
Jeff Crooks (from Brandon MB) had a nice event in S/G with his ’68 Firebird – winning three rounds of competition.
