Pretty Solid in Seattle
Todd Lesenko’s 2nd career appearance during NHRA’s Northwest Nationals held near Seattle produced some terrific progress for he and his Worsham Racing aimed team. Driving his special edition Fountain Tire-sponsored “Canadian Fan Tribute” Dodge Charger — Todd and company made their three most consistent consecutive runs of the season during the rain-shorted event which saw the 16-car field set on only two qualifying rounds on Saturday.
After running a trouble free 4.220 secs at 291.76 mph in the first session — Todd improved to a season’s best elapsed time of 4.149 secs later on Saturday afternoon which ultimately did qualify him solidly for Sunday’s eliminations in the #13 position. Then in round one it was Todd versus NHRA’s 2011 series champion Matt Hagan. In a very close decision Hagan parlayed a starting line advantage to score at 4.155 secs to 4.161 secs.
Next up for Todd Lesenko on the racing calendar will be the biggest drag racing event in the world — the NHRA U.S. Nationals which opens at Indianapolis beginning August 28th.
