While a majority of Canada is still wallowing from some remnants of the most recent “polar vortex” it’s “game on” at Missionā¦.
The very first race cars to hit drag strip surfaces for Canada this season happened under near ideal conditions last weekend at Mission Raceway in BC.
That track hosted it’s season race #1 for it’s thriving NHRA Summit Racing ET Racing Series.
Some familiar racing names found their way to victory lane including Canadian’s Justin Bond (Mission BC) in Super Pro, Al Omond from Abbotsford in Bike, and Pro ET Bracket winner Chris Stone of Mission.
The Hot Rod class winner was Jerry Byfield (from Washington state) and the first Junior Dragster titles of the season went to Sydney Jung (Surrey BC) and Darien Provost (Abbotsford).
The next Summit Racing ET event at Mission goes down in two weeks (April 23-24) as that series sets course within it’s overall 10-race series cumulated by it’s big season ending championship “King of the Track” event Oct. 1-2.
