Australia’s fabled Willowbank Raceway hosts 400 Thunder Drag Racing wraparound season finale….

The 2021-2022 calendar campaign for Australia’s 400 Thunder Drag Racing Series concluded with it’s marque annual event – the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals (54th edition).

The four day event (June 9-12) included remarkable weather, facility and racing and included for the first time ever — some nitro-powered fuel Funny Car racing.

Morice McMillin was at the center of a nitro FC class experiment effort at Willowbank – winning the event in convincing style in the Aeroflow Toyota.

Paul Cannuli (from homestate Queensland) took top honors in the Pro Slammer class winning the final round with a 5.726 secs ET.

The Winternationals also included a second fast door car Pro class program with Greg Tsakiridis prevailing in the IHRA Pro Mod (5.85 secs) index class.

Luke Crowley prevailed to win in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class.

Aaron Tremayne won in Pro Stock with his GXP when his final round opponent Nino Cavallo endured a high speed crash in the opposite lane.

Steven Reed was the winner in the event’s hard fought Pro Alcohol class.
