Drag strip surface participant highlights from recent GTA-annual Motorama Car Show event….

Jet-dragster team owner Rob Horner’s showed his ‘Ratster’ Methanol dragster. It will be driven by Rob Hancock this season — as Rob gets himself up to ‘speed’ so that he can make some time trials with the Sonic Assassin Jet Dragster. As Rob Horner said: ‘Doing close to 300 mph is not for everyone — so the idea is to see what he feels like when he’s doing 195 (first).”

Canada’s infamous “Charley Horse” AA/Altered was on display. Scot Haviland from Wilsonville Ontario is the owner of the vintage 1923 Ford T.

TMP regular and regular visitor to the winners circle, Shawna Woudstra (Waterdown Ontario) displayed her Fortinos-sponsored Dragster. Shawna remains very active in her community as well contributing to the ‘Fuel for Kids’ charity promotions.

This nicely prepped and supercharged 1966 Pontiac Acadian – ‘The Sixty-six Racing’ – is owned by Dave Myers from Oshawa Ontario.

Ian Hill made big news at the Motorama event announcing his new Pro Mod Series. He later aligned with both Kory Herman (Grand Bend Motorplex) and Jessica Slikker (TMP) and their track displays to help spread the word for the new exciting series coming this summer!

Mark Rogerson and Dennis Dale from Aylmer Ontario showed their truly rare and unique “Dinoland” 1955 Chevy Nomad Funny Car. This car was grand champion back in 1974/1975. It’s a full tilt body with an injected big block Chevy motor. It has a full chrome Funny Car chassis and still has the original custom pearl paint that features Disney characters. This car is out on the car show circuit again — after about 40 years of hibernation!

The “Nitro Express’ is a 1979 Plymouth Arrow owned by Dan Vincent from Foxboro Ontario. With a blown 383 CID SBC this car runs regularly at Shannonville Dragstrip.

An interesting watch this summer will be Ronnie Fortune’s very radical 1969 Camaro Outlaw Pro Modified. This car, based from Mississaga ON., is unorthodox powered to say the least — campaigning with a Wade Stevens built Nissan TB48 engine program.

Motorama fans did enjoy this 1978 Plymouth Arrow project – courtesy of Dan Vincent from Foxboro Ontario. The most noticeable part of this Dodge Arrow (498 CID) Pro Stock replica is that it sports a custom Ronnie Sox / Bill Stepp’s ‘Billy The Kid’ inspired wrap.
