A TAFC Teaser!

Some significant vibrations are coming from within the Noakes Racing camp.  We appear to be only days away from a rather major announcement from one of Canada’s premier Alcohol Funny Car racers…

While we are still sworn to secrecy on most of the details — we can tell you that Paul Noakes has been very busy on the upgrade trail and a re-launch in both equipment and season support is at the cusp.

“The car is almost complete,” said Noakes who is based fromLondon Ontario.  “It has taken a bit longer than I thought it would while acquiring so many new parts.  The car is now updated with all the required safety items that NHRA has put in place since the last time I competed in 2009.  We have a new supercharger program — a PSI screw blower and a new intake for our 526 BA engine program.”

Les Mellows and Paul Noakes will reunite for a major TAFC push in 2012

That increase in power is however only part of the story.  Major new sponsorship has been negotiated and details on that front will be confirmed soon.  Paul is planning a much expanded racing presence in 2012 that includes a focus within NHRA’s Lucas Oil Division 3.

The Noakes Racing 2002 Mustang will also be outfitted with a much newer Mustang body – probably by mid-season.

Another very important component for Noakes will be the return of Les Mellows as his full time crew chief.  Les helped guide Noakes to multiple national event wins on the IHRA trail – during 2007 and 2008, after previously helping cross town London TAFC rival Robbie Atchison win three IHRA World Championships.

“I am very fortunate to have Les Mellows as crew chief again,” admitted Noakes.  “Tim Rice and the rest of the old crew, Ben Rodgers, Randy Sackfield and Terry Buffett are all ready and raring to go.”

In addition to the soon to be announced major sponsor – Paul Noakes Racing will continue on too with his highly valued lineup of associates that includes Harman Heavy Vehicle Specialists, Total Fleet Services, Dr. Rondeau and Northland Dental.
