The 2016 run for Eastern Canada’s Can-Am Stock/Super Stock points is very close and is all set up for a dramatic conclusion…

The 13th and final race date for this season, to be held at Cayuga Dragway @ Toronto Motorsports Park next weekend (Oct. 1-2) will be needed to determine the overall season champion.

Currently, Welland’s Tony Valero sits in the top spot with 27 points, followed closely by Chris Lozon and also defending Can-Am Stock/SS Champion Chuck Nagy, who are tied with 23 points.  Another former series Champion, Rob Becker is also lurking not far behind with 21 season points heading into the season finale.

Tony Valerio is sitting on the points cusp for the 2016 Can-Am Stock/SS points championship.

According to the Can/Am rulebook — in the event of a tie in the points, 1st place we will go to accumulated points for the season, and if there is still a tie there will be a run off for the championship.

Bob however lit up the red eye in the final which gave Chris his first “W” of the year, moving him into even stronger points contention.

The upcoming October weekend Can-Am finals will see the series (which is celebrating it’s 20th year of existence)  joining Cayuga’s Dragway’s own RCSS for their final weekend as well.
