Clayton Claims Can-Am Title 

Brian Clayton has clinched Eastern Canada’s 2012 Can-Am Stock/Super Stock series championship title…. 

That circuit wrapped up it’s season on Oct. 6 at Cayuga Dragway Toronto Motorsports Park.

Driving his Port Perry, Ontario-based GT/EA classed Chevy Camaro, Clayton continued his season domination, capping that by winning for the 4th time during the campaign.  

Bryan Clayton won three different events at Cayuga this season to clinch the 2012 Can-Am S/SS championship.

Clayton’s 3rd win at Cayuga came when he beat Frank Federico’s Camaro Stocker in the final round.  That event was adjusted to 1/8th mile racing for safety reasons due to rain earlier in the weekend.  A total of 37 cars were entered for the season finale event.

Clayton’s other season win came at St. Thomas Dragway during September.

With his semi-final round finish, 2nd generation driver Ryan Boniferro landed in 2nd place in the final points chase.   Ryan, who is son to long time Canadian & Mopar drag racing proponent Joe Boniferro, drove a ’67 Barracuda based fromNiagara Falls this season.

2nd gen racer Ryan Boniferro drove his Mopar to 2nd place in the final Can-Am Stock/Super Stock points standings.

The very popular and long running series will celebrate its 2012 champion and season on October 28th when it’s hosts its annual awards brunch at Ruthven Park’s National Historic Site – Coach House.
