Four Eastern Canadian bracket racers now set to vie for World Championship glory….

Racing last weekend at Toronto Motorsports Park featured the pressure-packed final runoff rounds for many of Eastern Canada’s top ET bracket racers with the reward being a chance to qualify for NHRA’s Summit Racing ET Finals out at Las Vegas in late October.

The four winners were determined – all from the province of Ontario, who will now make that trip while representing Team Eastern Canada within the upcoming showdown mix of 64 machines from all over North America – entries each for Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle eliminator brackets.

Cayuga regular racer, Randy Hodges (from St. Catherines ON), qualified for Super Pro when he drove his ’93 Dodge Daytona past Andrew Stirk’s Corvette in that final round.

The Mopar cars of Randy Hodges (above) and Mark Lawrence will represent Eastern Canada for the Summit Racing World ET Championships coming later this autumn.

Also in a Mopar (’68 Barracuda), it was Mark Lawrence, Welland ON, edging out fellow Mopar-brand and also Welland-based driver, Patrick Boniferro for the Pro eliminator slotting.

Representing Eastern Canada honours for at Las Vegas have also been earned by Frank Hood (Oro-Medonte ON) for Sportsman with his Chevy Camaro and by St. Thomas-based Trevor Rock for Sportsman Motorcycle with his Suzuki GSXR.

Trevor Rock – is one of Southern Ontario’s top rated motorcycle racers.

The regional E.T. Finals winners received an impressive prize package, including a Wally, jacket, and purse, along with bonus travel money to allow for attendance at the world championship in Las Vegas (Oct 29-Nov 2).

During that penultimate 2026 season national event, each championship contender will enjoy a memorable experience — under a huge spotlight while they compete for a world championship in front of a massive Las Vegas crowd.

“Last weekend was a great race — special thanks to TMP for hosting the event,” stated Glenn Grow NHRA’s Canadian representative. “The event success was driven by the team efforts of Charlene Dennis-Lepp, Luigino Ramundo and Audra Garrett-Ramundo. We had 120+ contestants — our best attended in three years. All four winners are heading to Las Vegas thanks to support from Summit Racing Equipment, Hoosier Tires and also John Scotti.”

Also at TMP last weekend — Georgia Pettit — was crowed as a Division One Track Champion for Junior Dragster racing – part of the TMP’s Race Cayuga Sportsman Series.
