Calgary-based Ferstl Motorsports is planning a return to racing for 2015….. It has long been said patience will pay dividends to those who endure. That certainly has been the case for Calgarians Mike and Tracy Ferstl. After enduring a few years away from the sport, the husband and wife team are looking forward to joining friends and family as they venture back to the drag strip in 2015.

“We have become home bodies the past few years as we grew our business and the only drag racing we have witnessed has been the spectator variety,” stated Mike. “It was driving me crazy to listen to webcasts and watch live broadcasts on the web. I finally made a few passes to upgrade my license at the end of 2014 at Castrol Raceway in our newer dragster. It was getting so bad, I finally booked a last minute flight to Vegas to attend the NHRA national event and hang with friends. Tracy and I look forward to travelling to several races in 2015 as well as competing in Top Eliminator in Edmonton.”

Plans are to compete in Quick Rod and Super Comp trim at select events while concentrating efforts in the Ebertz Family run, Top Eliminator Edmonton. Top Eliminator provides fast bracket racing for dragsters and door cars dialed quicker than 8.90 or faster.

Several new marketing partners have joined the team and a new wrap will cloak the car for 2015.

“We will be making several appearances in the coming weeks and will make announcements as the spring progresses,” stated Ferstl. “We will also will be joined by family from Ontario as well as good friends in July and head to the inaugural Spokane IHRA national as well as the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton. It will be the highlight of our season as we share time visiting and creating new memories.”

The Ferstl’s have actively been involved in the Canadian drag racing scene since 1990. After competing in several different entries, they look forward to competing in their Racetech dragster and representing their marketing partners in Calgary.
