Some of the latest tidbits from in around and affecting Canadian drag racing!….
A Veteran Victory — Long time Central Canadian based racer Barry Pollard was victorious in Stock eliminator at the recent NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional race held at Bandimere Speedway west of Denver. Pollard (from Regina SK) won with his H/SA ’76 Roadrunner prevailing after 6 rounds of competition – on June. 19th. He entered eliminations qualified 5th after running an altitude corrected .890 sub index run.
Got Certification? — Finally Cayuga Dragway’s Track Manager Neale Armstrong can say — yes! That final step happened during the recent NHRA National Open at Cayuga when NHRA’s Division One tech signed off of Neale’s much anticipated Northern Warrior Jet Car. It is possible that this new machine (built by LJ Race Cars) may see some action very soon now!
Three Perry Generations — We just like this photo! Ken Perry and his son Adam had their Markham-based “Iceman” TAD at Cayuga last week for some testing. That’s Adam’s 6-year old son Charlie in the cockpit. Maybe next to follow the racing family footsteps?
