A repeat facility performance from Eastern Canada’s NHRA JSCCS season circuit….
Quebec’s iconic Napierville Dragway played host to the penultimate weekend for racing for the 2026 NHRA John Scotti Canadian Championship Series — hosting this group for the 2nd time this season.
Some great weather plus a rousing turnout of cars from both Canada and the USA equated to very successful, as season events #11 & #12 were played out.
This weekend’s racing was highlighted by more terrific participaiton within the JSCCS core strength – Stock/Super Stock Combo racing. That category also included something special as not only did racers vie for two eliminator wins – they also participated within NHRA “class” run offs — which were held on Thursday and which produced 19 individual class trophies (photo below).
For Sept 11th Stock/SS combo racing it was runaway season points leader Brian Clayton (from Port Perry ON) earning another event score when he defeated 2025 JSCCS champion Michael Ingram (Middle Sackville NS) in the all Canada final round. Clayton’s GT-category ’90 Camaro ran a 9.858 secs (9.85 dial) to collect the win light while Ingram’s ’68 Chevelle Stocker ran a tad too quick 11.197 secs (11.20 index).
JSCCS series points leader Brian Clayton was on the money once again.
Saturday’s race card (Sep 12) produced a very popular first time winner when Chelsea Clark earned her first score in the series — racing her iconic father’s (Wally Clark – Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame) GT Pontiac Grand-Am to a convincing title. Chelsea (who had also won in class racing on Thursday) carded a 9.704 secs (9.61 dial) to defeat Rhode Island’s Tony Pennine in the final round. Canadian drivers Mike Ingram and Francois Periard finished in the “final four” for this race.
” 2nd Gen” driver Chelsea Clark was rewarded finally with a big first win in Stock/SS Combo racing!
The busy Saturday for Stock/SS racers also included a lucrative bonus race after the main event was complete and for that it was Mike Ingram winning over Mike Reynolds (in the Gaffney Motorsports Camaro) to collect a cool purse of $5G.
Mike Ingram more than paid for his travel expenses with a nice bonus race victory!
Mike Reynolds moved to the cusp of another JSCCS season title for S/ST class racing.
NHRA’s Super Street (10.90) class included defending 2025 series champion Mike Reynolds (from Ottawa) advancing to both final rounds this weekend with his ’77 Vega. Mike topped Quebec’s Jean Yves Gagnon in the Saturday race after placing R/UP to Charles Coughlin’s PEI-based Z28 Camaro the day before.
Index racing for Super Gas and Super Comp saw wins go to Quebec’s Ben Martin and Richard Grenier (for 9.90) and to Jason Macneil (Nova Scotia) and George Maglaris (Vermont) for 8.90 completion.
1/8th-mile combo racing for Top Sportsman and Top Dragster produced a big win by Luskville Dragway co-owner Fred Angers who won over Debby Digenova in Friday’s all T/D final round. On Saturday Nova Scotia’s Jason Macneil beat out Ontario’s Rick Stroud — in another all T/D car conclusion.
Luskville Dragway’s Fred Angers was tough within TD/TS Combo racing.
The event’s Motorcycle ET class was dominated by Mike Lalande from Sturgeon Falls Ontario — who won both events. Mike defeated Nova Scotia-based opponent Wayne Morris in both final rounds to earn his first ever JSCCS victories.
Bike ET racing produced a dominating weekend for Ontario’s Mike Lalande.
Junior Dragster racing also included an undefeated racer with Maddox Mason (from Northboro MA) winning 2X.
“We had a very good car count – for Stock/SS — more than 60 cars participated in those races,” commented NHRA’s Canadian representative Glenn Grow. “Overall the series welcomed 15 new first time racers to Napierville.”
“It was great to see the first time winners that emerged – including — Chelsea Clark with her first ever competition win and also for Richard Grenier’s slick new Hemi-powered supercharged roadster which gave him his first win in that car (Super Gas).”
“Another tip of the cap to Naperville’s “traction master” Nicolas Brunet who made sure everyone was able to hook all weekend,” Glenn added. “Both the track and my NHRA crew busted their butts to get the race completed.”

The 2026 NHRA John Scotti Canadian Championship Series will wrap up it’s season with concluding races #13-14 — coming next weekend at Luskville Dragway.
