PBSS Racer Bondi Primed for Season

Aurora Ontario-based Pro Sled racer is hoping for quicker times with his Ski-Doo asphalt bullet …

With a switch to racing fuel for the 2012 Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products, Pro Sled racer Chris Bondi is hoping for better results this year.
We tried an increase of boost and racing fuel rather than pump gas late last year, and the result was an 8.52 at 153 mph, noted Bondi. We will step it up for 2012 in the PBSS with the race fuel, and hopefully be running in the low eights.
Bondi recorded times of 8.87 at 143 mph last year on pump gas with his sled, and believes he can cut down his times significantly during his trips down the quarter-mile with the new VP Racing Fuels and an increase in boost on the sled’s engine.
He rides a Ski-Doo Renegade powered by a 1200-cc supercharged engine using an EFI fuel system and a CVT (constant velocity) clutch. He acts as crew chief and driver, with help from his crew, Tania and Jake McFadden.
Sponsorships for the 2012 PBSS series is provided by VP Racing Fuels, Bondi Engines Inc, Motovan Corporation, an ATV/snowmobile/motorcycle parts distributor with locations in Quebec and Ontario, BRP, Bombardier Recreational Products and OTSFF, Ocean Transportation Worldwide Logistics.
Although Bondi qualified for each of his PBSS events entered last season, he’s hoping for more success this coming year. And he believes the PBSS is the place to make his mark.
I think this series is great, Bondi said about the PBSS. It is well run and well organized, and that is why I am coming back.
The PBSS presented by Wiseco Performance Products gets underway this year with the season-opening Victoria Day Weekend Challenge at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park May 18-20.
The Pro Bike & Sled Series, www.PBSS.ca will race six times in 2012. The series also competes with its two companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.ca offering a solid and full package of drag racing action.
