Pro Mod class car recent feature race results from within Quebec & Ontario….

FuelTech Take Three! — After being rained out in June, the FuelTech Pro Mod Series race schedule for Napierville got back on track when that delayed event was inserted into the track’s NHRA National Open event schedule September (6-8).

Defending series champion Cédric Beaulieu made a strong pass with 3.70 seconds at 213 mph to position himself at the top spot on the qualification sheet.

Montreal-area driver Claude St-Maurice scored his second career Pro Mod class win during the rain date/make up FuelTech Pro Mod Series event held at Napierville Dragway.

Positions 2 to 5 were tightly filled between 3.80 and 3.83 secs by Salvatore Cammisulli (3.80), Pierre Chicoine (3.82), Carl Brunet (3.83) and Claude St-Maurice (3.83). The pack was followed by Mario Gourgue (4.74) and Louis Coulombe (4.77).

The race resumed early Sunday morning with a cold breeze and the temperature was only 8C before reaching 15C in the early afternoon. Unfortunately, Cedric Beaulieu and Carl Brunet had mechanical failures that prevented them from racing in elimination rounds and Pierre Chinoine broke down during the first round of eliminations.

Montreal’s Claude St-Maurice, who also won at Grand Bend Ontario’s WDRA Canadian Nationals (in August), made it to the top of the heap again and won a coveted NHRA Wally trophy for his team efforts.

In the final “Big Sal” Cammisulli, from Ontario, made a technical error by shutting down his car after his burnout – which handed St-Maurice the automatic win.

The final FuelTech Pro Mod series race of 2024 season in Napierville is scheduled (Sept 20-22). Cedric Beaulieu and Claude Saint-Maurice are in contention for the season championship final top position!

On Top at TMP – Over the Labour Day weekend it was Halton Hills Ontario-based Jay Santos winning for the 2nd time this season in Pro Mod at Cayuga Dragway.

Racing his supercharged Camaro, Santos prevailed over a healthy Pro Modified field that was in attendance.

Jay Santos went undefeated for Pro Mod class racing at Cayuga Dragway in 2024.  He won for the X2 during that track’s Labour Day Spectacular event.

After qualifying wrapped up Saturday with it was Toronto’s Raymond Commisso sitting in the number one position with a 3.74 at 204.97.

Commisso’s Al Billes-tuned ’69 Camaro was on kill all weekend and he took out Steve Boardman Corvette in the first round and then earned a broken bye in the semis.

Meanwhile, Santos, who qualified third (getting in on the last shot) disposed of Ron Bankes’ Corvette (a former Rob Atchison car) and then Cammisuli’s Mustang (former Scott Wildgust car) to earn his right to face Commisso.

Toronto’s Raymond Commissio was the #1 qualifier & R/UP for Pro Mod.

That final round pairing was epic! Santos combined a slightly better RT (.069 to a .073) and ran low ET at 3.69 at 205.21 to just cross the stripe first over Ray’s equally impressive 3.70 at 206.38!
