Ontario’s Mark Martino made some big noise in NHRA racing last season. His Pro Stock car will be a feature show attraction.

The father and son team of Tony and Mark Martino (from Stoney Creek) will bring their Charter Communications GXP to Canada for the first time.  During 2012, driver Mark Martino made high impact while racing at select NHRA Full Throttle Series national events following a very successful strategic alignment with North Carolina’s Victor Cagnazzi.  Cagnazzi, one of drag racing’s most reputed engine builders, played an intricate role in last season’s successful run by female racer Erica Enders – who finished 4th in final NHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock points.

The motorsports racing public will also get its first look at the all new and potential ridden Paton Racing Top Fuel dragster which is owned by Barry and Todd Paton and based from Paris, Ontario.

Following last year, the Paton’s have updated their Tim Horton’s-sponsored  racing operation significantly.  They have acquired a very proven chassis from DSR (Don Schumacher Racing) which was raced earlier in 2012 as the U.S. Army Dragster driven by multi-time NHRA Full Throttle World Champion Tony Schumacher.

The Paton Racing display at the CME will also include an expanded Top Fuel experience for fans affording a close up look at various components and technology within the demanding art of producing 8000 HP.

Overall the 4,000-foot Wiseco Performance Products DragRaceCanada Quarter-Mile Corral display will allow visitor’s personal access to a wide range of drag cars and drivers – just like a trip to the drag strip experience – and a large part as to why the straight line sport is so popular.

Details on additional drag racing display cars will be announced closer to the event date.

The CME will celebrate its seventh year in 2013, presenting Canada’s largest and most popular show devoted to motorsports.
