Record setting CFL running back Jon Cornish got a recent unique Top Fuel car experience….

Cornish was the guest of honour during Calgary-based Darkside Racing’s most recent public awareness appearance while on location at the Calgary Harley-Davidson dealership (September 26) – the final event in the team’s on-going and effective “Fire Up” For Prostate Cancer Awareness campaign.

The Calgary Stampeders starter helped to elevate the campaign to new heights and got a serious taste of nitro while doing it.

“Jon didn’t just climb into the cockpit of the dragster – he wanted the full experience,” said team co-owner Kelly Kedorowich. “So we had our son Nik strap him into the 5-point harness for the fire up process. The fans loved it and we’re pretty sure Jon enjoyed it too – we had him grinning like a Cheshire Cat!”

Cornish, who was born in New Westminster BC, and was a member of the 2014 Grey Cup winning team has claimed the CFL’s rushing title 3 times in his career and has won both the CFL Outstanding Canadian Player and CFL Outstanding Player overall honours.

Dark Side Racing (which is owned and operated by David, Kelly and Nikolas Fedorowich) would like to raise a glass to everyone who helped to make our 2015 campaign such a huge success.
