Arend to “Final Four” Again

 

Jeff Arend continues to flirt with victory on the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series trail. 

During NHRA’s most recent stop – the Summit Southern Nationals east of Atlanta– theToronto native went to the semi final round again which duplicated his event effort from the weekend before at Dallas.  

At Atlanta, Jeff drove the Kalitta Racing/DHL  Toyota FC to a 4.183 secs to qualify 11th and then took out Tony Pedregon and Johnny Gray in the first two rounds.  In the class semis, Arend raced eventual winner Ron Capps, but his machine had traction woes on the very hot track surface and slowed from its much quicker pace giving Capps the win. 

Arend, who now sits in 9th place in season Full Throttle points, will continue his pursuit of career “Wally” #4 at Topeka in two weeks.
