Canadian Nitro Nationals Pre-Season Buzz!
Race fan anticipation has begun already for the 3rd annual Canadian Nitro Nationals at Cayuga Dragway — Toronto Motorsports Park…..
As confirmed earlier this year on DragRaceCanada, the event which played to full capacity last summer, will include a return engagement for NHRA Full Throttle Series Fuel Funny Car class stalwarts Cruz and Tony Pedregon — who will headline.
The event which will go down June 22-24th will mark the second consecutive year for the highly popular “Brothers Pedregon” who will bring their 7000 HP Funny Cars to Cayuga for their only scheduled Canadian event stop of the season.

The Pedregon’s, who both have NHRA World Championships to their credits, and who are originally from California, will showcase the very latest Nitro FC machinery and technology at the event. Cruz Pedregon will be driving the Snap-On Tools car which features the cutting edge all new 2012 Toyota Camry body, while his brother Tony will wheel his ultra-powerful Chevy Monte Carlo which now receives its primary sponsorship from K-Love.
“Cruz and I are even more excited about coming then we were last year,” said Tony Pedregon. “On this trip we now know what to expect and because we now have a bit of history — that will affect our approach and performance.”
“It (Cayuga Dragway) is a really great facility and the fans were so very supportive of us being there,” he added. “We really appreciated that and are intent on putting on another great show.”

This year’s event will see the Pedregon’s run a total of 3-times versus twice last year. Canadian Nitro Nationals Pro cars will have two runs on Saturday evening and one run on Sunday afternoon.
Cruz and Tony will be part of an expanded Professional car event line-up for this year’s event which will include additional nitro Funny Cars, Top Fuel dragsters, Alcohol Funny Cars, exhibiton Jet cars and of course the ever popular PMRA Pro Modified category.
