Canadian Nitro Nats – Photo Highlights

Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park hosted it’s 5th version of the Canadian Nitro Nationals last weekend…….while Mother Nature co-operated initially – the event’s conclusion was very unfortunately cut short by rain on Sunday…..

The event was in support of and featured a good mix of independent level NHRA Professional racers with four Nitro Funny Cars and two Top Fuel dragsters featured in some exhibition pairings on Saturday evening.   While non of the feature cars delivered anything close to track record performances – the overflow of capacity crowd went home happy with nitro singed nostrils and covered in rubber residue.

The event also included an Outlaw Pro Mod class, a Nostalgia Nitro FC match race and the awe inspiring Shockwave triple-engined Jet Truck owned by Neal & Chris Darnell.  All of that was supplemented by  great participation from within the NDRA racing circuit and Eastern Canada’s best drivers in the Super Street 10.5 and OSCA Easy Street class categories.
