Eastern Canadian drag racers flocked to NHRA’s New England Nationals one week ago and here is our photo package capturing just some of that!…..

Laval Quebec’s popular race team — Sylvain and Linda Nadon — had a great run in their naturally aspirated 2007 Mustang. After qualifying #9 – Sylvan took the Mountain-motored car all the way to the Top Sportsman semi final round!

It was business as usual at New England for Tiina Duncanson (from Acton ON). “That Girl” prevailed again in the event’s Pro Stock Sled division for the 3rd straight year! Nice!

Quebec’s Daniel Mercier entered his 2nd NHRA race of the season with his own Top Fuel dragster entry. Daniel qualified #14 – but lost out to eventual event winner Steve Torrence in the first round on Sunday.

An impressive 2-car Chevy effort was fielded by Ervin Motorsports from Nova Scotia. Trevor Ervin (top) raced his B/SA ’69 Nova to the 3rd round in Stock while Bill Ervin ran this cool ’86 Camaro as a GT/EA in Super Stock.

I’m sorry – is there a cooler TS car from Canada other then the ’92 Lebaron raced by Cedric Beaulieu from Quebec? Cedric qualified the turbocharged car #3 at a very swift 6.35 secs and advanced to round #2 in TS.

Kingston Ontario’s Al Kenny was the quickest qualifier overall in TD – taking the pole with a run of 6.253 secs.

Really good stuff again from the Paris ON-based Paton Racing TF dragster! Driver Shawn Reed qualified #11 and went to the 2nd round in that brutally tough and expensive eliminator.

Our good friend Mark Howes (from New Brunswick) qualified #2 in Super Stock with his SS/KA Duster – hitting a stout .933 sub index run!

Rick Stroud (from Douglas ON) ran 2 cars at the event in both S/C and S/G (this ’27 T). Rick drove a great race – finishing in round #3 for both categories!

Quebec’s Francois Periard entered his immaculate ’68 Roadrunner and advanced to round #3 in Stock before having a red-light foul start.

Mario Gouge (from Ponte Rouge PQ) tried his hand in TS with his ’92 Trans Am. Mario did win his first round in competition.

We liked this very clean ’78 Camaro raced by Moncton NB’s Terry Knapper. Terry ran an impressive -.984 to qualify #4 for Stock eliminator.

As his often does – Kingston’s Jason Kenny hung around to the late rounds in NHRA competition. He went to the “final four” in S/G with his amazingly reliable Corvette roadster.

Justin Cummings (from Bloomfield NB) was on the event’s 8.90 Super Comp list with this very nicely prepped dragster.

Michael Bastien – who is from Terrebonne PQ – did some great crowd pleasing burnouts with is very cool Dodge Daytona TS car.
