Some more Canadian racer photo highlights from the NHRA National event level of racing — Summit Racing Nationals edition…..

Left Coast Canadian TAD class terror Shawn Cowie ran well at the Ohio race with his potent Mundie’s Towing & Recovery dragster. Shawn qualified 3rd (5.264 secs) and won two rounds before being upset by Jeff Veale on a holeshot in the semi final round.

Quebec’s Michael Bastin (Ste. Anne Des Plaines) had a nice race event in T/S class competition taking his Mountain-motored Dodge Daytona to a third round placing.

Daniel Mercier qualified his machine #14 at Norwalk (3.790 secs) but lost out in round one to eventual event winner Antron Brown by a 3.739 secs to 3.816 secs margin.

Super Stock class racing at Norwalk did include impressive Canadian participation with 6 cars entered for the event. Wally (& Chelsea) Clark went the furtherest in competition with their Niagara Falls ON-based GT/CA Grand Am.

Victoria BC’s Stan Sipos was entered for the TAFC eliminator with the Sipos & Davenport Camaro. Stan qualified the Kennedy Cellars/Cielo Properties backed car #10 before losing out to event winner Sean Bellemeur – 5.478 secs to 5.573 secs.

For the 2nd time in his racing career Smokies Garage team kingpin Mike Clark entered a NHRA FlexJet Factory Stock Showdown race. Mike ran his 2021 Hemi Dodge SRT to a quick 7.980 secs best but was edged out by eventual event winner Stephen Bell (7.933 secs).

As they often do — the husband and wife team of Brian & Corinne MacMillan ran their Ajax ON based Camaro in Ohio state – in Super Gas class competition.  Corinne had a 9.890 breakout loss in round two this time out.

Rising Canadian Pro Stock driver Eric Latino kept his impressive and highly competitive 2024 season effort in tact with the GESi Chevy Camaro.  The Whitby ON native qualified mid-pack (#7 —  6.608 secs) before losing out in round #1 on a .005 red/light foul versus Troy Coughlin Jr.
