Canada’s single largest independent drag racing event of the season goes down at Cayuga Dragway this weekend….
The much anticipated 7th annual Canadian Nitro Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park will feature a truly interesting mix of characters – both drivers and machines.
Headlining will be a field of Top Fuel Dragsters including no less then three different Canadian drivers, Todd Paton, Smax Smith, and Ike Maier – all of whom are fully focused on performing well on their home turf at the fabled facility.
Three Canadian Top Fuel drivers (Todd Paton – Ike Maier – Smax Smith) will be in contention this weekend at the 2016 Canadian Nitro Nationals
The event will also feature 4 Fuel Funny Cars with U.S. based drag racers Jack Wyatt, Dale Creasy Jr., Jeff Diehl and Terry Haddock all making a return.
Jeff Diehl’s immensely popular “The Surfer” FC returns to Cayuga from California.
Some outstanding exhibition runs from jet cars will be featured with the Canadian based “Terminator” and “Northern Warrior” Jet Dragsters scheduled as well as the absolutely awesome to watch (triple-jet engined!) Shockwave Jet Truck.
The events weekend schedule will also feature round #2 for both the Napa/AutoPro Ultimate Showdown Drag Racing Series and the NDRA Alcohol Funny Car circuits.
It’s round #2 for the USDRS Pro Mod cars this weekend!
Racing gets underway on Friday night – with all the nitro cars scheduled to make two runs each on Saturday evening.
