Cayuga’s Rambling Guy!
Let me be clear! Cayuga Dragway track announcer Rob Potter does all of his “rambling” on the drag strip not over the PA system. Late last season Rob hit the track for the first time with a much beloved and very long term project — 1967 Rambler American ET Car. Featuring a 396 CID engine and powerglide transmission, Potter who is also one of Canada’s all time reputed drag racing photographers, plans on running his car in 2012 in the ONDR and OSCA circuits.
“This car originally belong to a child hood friend who passed away way too young,” said Potter. “I’ve owned it for almost 20 years. After finally debuting it last year the car is getting new paint and a few safety issues looked after at DSE (David Stirk Enterprises) in Brampton. Also a big thanks to Jamie Wildgoose from Race Car Services for getting the car to the track.”
