Pro Modified class eliminations from the President’s Cup Nationals was concluded at US 131 Motorsports Park during the Northern Nationals presented by Aeromotive. That deferral became necessary after competition was postponed due to Tropical Storm Bill back in June.
Long time IHRA veteran racer Billy Harper, who is on the circuit’s comeback trail this season picked up the event’s Crower Pro Mod Ironman.
Driving his popular nitrous-injected Dodge Viper, Harper easily outran the supercharged Cadillac raced by Dina Parise in the championship round.
The Paducah, Kentucky driver cut a .058 light and made a 5.963 at 245.50 mph. Parise, from New Freedom, Pennsylvania, left at .638 and made a 6.244 pass at 197.98 mph.
Harper had beaten Freddie Scriba’s Corvette in round #1 back at MIR in June but his scheduled 2nd round opponent Robert Patrick – optioned not at race at the US 131 event which gave Harper a bye into the final round.
