Canada’s participation during NHRA’s traditional season closing Eastern national event race at Maple Grove Raceway in beautiful Pennsylvania was once again – significant. Here is a photo essay including just some of the Canadian racing highlights….
Toronto-native Jeff Arend enjoyed his best NHRA event of the ’14 season with superb “final four” finish in the Jim Dunn Racing Charger in Fuel FC.
After winning at St. Louis the weekend before in S/Gas – Jason Kenny went to the 5th round in Super Comp at Maple Grove.
Quebec’s Richard St. Pierre made his first ever NHRA national event start in TAD. He qualified #14 at 5.478 secs before losing out in round #1
Veteran Martimes-based racer Fred Thibeault qualified his very clean B/SA Camaro #20 in Stock
Belleville Ontario’s Steve Boardman ran his Red Hot Racing Chevy Nova in Super Gas
Nova Scotia’s Bruce Riley qualified deep in Super Stock (#6) before falling to defending world champ Bryon Worner in round one.
Defending 2013 TAFC event Champion Paul Noakes qualified #10 and had a second round finish at the 2014 event.
Rookie Canadian driver Tyler Scott made his 2nd national event appearance driving the Welland-based Kardiac Kids Car – Tyler qualified #12 at 5.731 secs
California’s Sean Bellemeur had a nice 2nd round finish driving the Canadian-based KonRodz Racing Chevy Monte Carlo in TAFC
That’s Quebec’s Daniel Mercier waving hello during TAD action at Reading. Daniel qualified #11.

Sean Gaffney’s ultra clean ’66 Nova from the Ottawa area qualified a .929 under his class index in Super Stock
Canadian TAD speedster Jeff Veale ran super fast again (275.45 mph) and beat Bill Reichert on a holeshot in round #1 !
The top Canadian qualifier in Super Stock was once again John Armstrong. He took his SSA/A Corvette to a 3rd round finish.
