DragRaceCanada will be providing even more comprehensive coverage of Pro Mod class racing — beginning with this coming weekend….

Our popular Pro Mod Portal subsection – which was first established for the 2010 season — will be expanded and will include cut-to-the-chase event results from the three primary Pro Mod class sanctioning bodies this season – NHRA, PDRA and now again the IHRA.

The IHRA have re-introduced 8-car qualified fields for 2015 — however there is a couple of clarifications. Their 2015 World Championship chase does not begin until effective with their 3rd race of the year — the new Southern Nationals event in Florida in mid April.

The IHRA touring circuit will include only one points race stop in Canada – at the IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex (June 26-28th). The subsequent IHRA Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals at Edmonton (July 17-19th) will not be included — however Western Canadian drag racing fans should not fret!

Innovators Castrol Raceway, as they have done in past seasons will once again include their own independent Pro Mod eliminator for that event, featuring the “best from the west”.

Some of the best Pro Mod cars from the West will be a featured part of this summer’s Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals at Edmonton

Our first Pro Mod Portal report entry of the season will be from the NHRA’s Amalie Gatornationals happening later this week at Gainesville.

You can link to that season schedule: HERE

DragRaceCanada’s coverage of the world’s most popular “door slammer” category will however not stop there. We also plan to include numerous independent event reports throughout the season – including but not limited to Canada’s new 3-race “Ultimate Showdown” Series in the East as well as that infamous “Doorwarz” event held each summer from Mission Raceway.

In a very positive season development – IHRA drag racing will once again have a season points championship chase for Pro Mod.

Pro Mod class highlights from the NMCA, SCSN and Norwalk’s Shakedown at the Summit will also be on our season radar.
