PDRA DragWars Victors! — At Galot Motorsports Park in NC, the reigning PDRA Pro Boost classworld champion Jason Harris took over the points lead in WS Construction Pro Boost presented by P2 Contracting season chase. Fredy Scriba earned his first career Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous win and with that took over the points lead in the process.
Jason Harris met Todd “King Tut” Tutterow in the DragWars final round for a rematch of the season opener final round. With five PDRA world titles between the two, the final round lived up to expectations. Harris in his ProCharged Southern Diamond Company “Party Time” ’69 Camaro left the line first by one thousandth of a second, then lit up the scoreboard first with a 3.622 at 207.53 MPH. Tutterow was just five thousandths behind at the finish line with his 3.626 at 207.88.
Harris went into the weekend just over two rounds behind points leader Kurt Steding, who lost in the first round, so Harris is the new points leader.
Harris qualified No. 1 and kept up that performance level through eliminations while defeating Melanie Salemi, Travis “The Carolina Kid” Harvey and then Randy Weatherford in the semifinals.
For Maryland’s Fredy Scriba 2024 has been having the best season of his PDRA Pro Nitrous career, starting with two runner-up finishes in the first three races. He then won the Summit Racing Equipment PDRA ProStars all-star event to hoist his first PDRA 660 Man trophy, but a points-earning win eluded him until this event.
He lined up against nitrous Pro Modified legend “Tricky” Rickie Smith in the final round, Scriba won when Smith went red on a 3.872 at 205.16 pass. Scriba was ready for a race, though, as he set low E.T. of race day with his 3.684 at 206.54 in his Musi-powered “Sorcerer” ’69 Camaro.
With points leader Jim Halsey suffering a weekend-ending crash in Friday’s final qualifier and No. 2 in points Tommy Franklin losing in the opening round, Scriba took over the points lead with just one race remaining. The three drivers are separated by less than a round.

Veteran racer Freddy Scriba is now the overall points leader for the PDRA’s Pro Nitrous class category.
Scriba qualified third and won the first round over a red-lighting John Vergotz. He set low E.T. of the second round (3.709 secs)to beat Brian Shrader and in the semifinals, he posted a 3.721 at 204.82 to hold off Marcus Butner.
To The Top in Texas — Keith Haney won the Texas Tango event at Pine Valley Raceway – the penultimate season event for the Summit Racing Mid-West Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service LLC.
The team’s nitrous injected Black Mamba Camaro was a top performer during the event with their best pass of the weekend being a 3.699 secs which landed them the #1 Qualifier spot.
With the limited car count, Keith would get a bye into the Finals against the winner of Ed Thornton and Tina Pierce. The Finals was versus Ed “Mr MPH” Thornton in his twin turbo Camaro tuned by Shane Tecklenburg. The Black Mamba however prevailed and burned all of the nitrous through the Pat Musi 998 cubic inches and ran a winning 3.708 and 204 MPH – while Thorton aborted his run at about the 400 ft mark.
The Texas Tango event win does put Keith Haney Racing into the overall points lead — by just 10 points over Mark Micke.
The MWDRS Stroud Safety Pro Mod Championship will be decided at the upcoming Ronnie Hobbs World Finals Throwdown (Oct 18-19) at Osage Casino & Hotel Tulsa Raceway Park (Tulsa OK) – where Haney will try to duplicate his 2023 Pro Mod Championship results.
