A photo highlight summary from last weekend’s IHRA Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex….

Canada’s Paton Racing Team was a prime attraction for the IHRA Canadian Nationals with the team cars driven by Todd Paton and Jeff Chatterson facing off. Todd’s best run was 4.725 secs while Jeff hit a 5.546 secs (1/4 mile).
So cool to see Mountain Motor Pro Stockers back at GBM! It was the “Paone Brothers” Chevy Vs the “Konigshofer Bros” Ford. John Konigshofer ran the quickest for the two over the weekend.
Quebec’s Daniel Mercier played a major part of the Canadian Nationals event making runs in both his A/FD and nitro Nostalgia FC. Daniel’s quickest run was a 5.352 secs in his dragster and a career best (so far) in his Camaro FC – 5.89 secs 252 mph.
Both Jeff Veale and Jeff Chatterson made some impressive runs with their injected nitro entries during the weekend’s action.
The GBM weekend featured an appearance by Kenny Lang – one of Canada’s most famous Pro Mod racers – who towed all the way in from Winnipeg to race. Lang hit a 3.826 to qualify strong in the field.
Pro Mod class car racing did include a number of performance milestones for class entries – including Scott Wildgust — who broke the 200 mph barrier for the first time in his car as well as hitting a career quick 3.813 secs ET.
Russ Lethbridge provided the large crowd on hand with a couple of impressive runs driving his HellFire Freightliner Jet Truck.
But the real stars of the weekend was (you!) the great crowd which came out to support the comeback of the IHRA Canadian Nationals event!
