The single most anticipated major drag racing event for all of Western Canada is on tap this coming weekend at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway…
For the 15th consecutive season, the IHRA’s Mopar Nitro Jam Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Good Vibrations will be presented.
Featuring cars and stars from both Canada and the USA the 2015 race is sure to once again satisfy the pallet of even the most discriminating drag racing fan.
The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has traveled to Castrol Raceway to celebrate one of Canada’s biggest and most exciting drag racing events since 2003. The three-day event features drag racing action in more than a dozen categories with qualifying on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 and eliminations on Sunday, July 19, all at Castrol Raceway.
This weekend marks the first time that the AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive series regulars and Nitro Harley regulars will compete in Edmonton. The Rocky Mountain Nationals is included as part of the season long battle for the championship with these classes. Spectators will witness the largest AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive field in history compete at Castrol Raceway.
In addition, Top Fuel dragsters are scheduled to compete with USA based drivers Bruce Litton and Jenna Haddock along with Canadian David Fedorowich (from Calgary) all on the entry list.
The event which each year is supplemented by local and regional circuit productions will once again feature the Pro 6.90 indexed Funny Car racing courtesy of the the Rocky Mountain Nostalgia FC circuit as well as the IHRA national event debut for the new Western Drag Racing League’s awesome Pro Mod group.
Pro Mod Cars will be back at Edmonton this weekend – Joe Delehay is the defending 2014 event champ!
The Mopar Nitro Jam Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Good Vibrations will pair up with with the IHRA’s Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour as racers in Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod and Junior Dragster, plus local competitors in Castrol Raceway’s weekly bracket program, battle it out for an Ironman trophy and championship points. Points and big money are on the line for all of the teams in attendance as the best racers in the world travel to Alberta for championship drag racing.
