Jeff Veale Racing Team notches its most convincing victory yet….

It was a Canada Day Weekend to remember for Ontario’s Jeff Veale who won big during the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals at Norwalk Ohio.

This aspiring (Canfield) Ontario Top Alcohol Dragster class driver escalated his noterity a few more notches by scoring at the national event level for the third time in his career.

After qualifying solidly mid pack (#7 at 5.338 secs) for a very tough field, Veale proceeded to get progressing quicker during eliminations while topping JP Gutierrez, Matt Cummings and fellow Canadian Shawn Cowie (on a hole shot) consecutively, to advance to the final round.

Canada’s Jeff Veale drove an excellent event at Norwalk – to collect his 3rd career NHRA Nationals event “Wally”.

Then in the championship round Jeff outran non other then highly talented Norwegian-native lady racer Julie Nataas, the defending NHRA Lucas Oil World Champion. Jeff streaked to a 5.351 secs at 277.03 mph to illuminate his lane win light, while Nataas shut off after smoking the tires.

“A pretty amazing weekend — having to take on the top 3 points cars to get the win,” said a proud team patriarch, Jeff’s father Gary Veale. “We got such great support from both Canadian and US fans. We’re proud to get a Canadian win around Canada day!”

With this win, the Jeff Veale Racing team further cemented their membership within Canada’s high propensity reputation for NHRA injected nitro car class racing — which of course also includes names Daniel Mercier, Doug Doucette, Jeff Chatterson & Clif Bakx.

Jeff’s previous two NHRA national wins had come at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania — the most recent being just last September.

With now fully evolved capability for consistent 5.3 secs & 280+ mph – this independent team truly has morphed itself to pre-race favourite status for any/all events attended.

Jeff Veale’s path to victory at Norwalk included very tough customers — including Matt Cummings in the McPhillips Racing machine in round #2.
