Canadian AllStars Accolades!

Sportsman drag racing’s ultimate annual attraction – the NHRA Jeg’s AllStars Event – played out during NHRA’s O’Reilly Route 66 Nationals at Chicago last weekend and three prominent Western Canadian racers participated…. 

NHRA Lucas Oil drag racing series drivers Casey Plaizier (Edmonton AB), Mike Shannon (Kelowna BC) and Dan Provost (Abbotsford BC) all made appearances at the 30th annual event.   While non emerged victorious this year — just the fact they all earned entry into such an accomplished field of the highest level Sportsman racers in the world — is a true testament.

Al Provost made the long haul to Chicagoland from Abbotsford BC to run in Top Dragster.  Al qualified #4 with a 6.929 secs before losing out narrowly in round two.

Edmonton's Casey Plaizier qualified his D/SA Firebird 5th - but fell to Robbie Shaw's Firebird in round one.

Wily racer Mike Shannon (from Kelowna BC) ran his Undercover chassis dragster in Super Comp - and lost out by a very scant margin to eventual winner Ray Miller in the semi final round.
