K&K Dodge Seeks 3rd Title

The Stratford-Ontario based Top Sportsman Dodge Stratus campaigned by Kevin Wicke and Kevin Zimmer will try to chase down a 3rd NAPA Quick 32 championship this season…

.
The K&K Racing Team will be back for the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts 2013 season, and team driver Kevin Wicke is hoping for more good luck this year.
 .
“We plan on winning some more rounds”, noted Wicke, who is the series only two-time champion, taking top honors in 2009 and 2010. “We qualified well, but did not have any racer luck.” .
Wicke qualified the Top Sportsman Dodge Stratus number one in the field several times in 2012, and placed seventh in points, but was not as successful as in previous years. The team’s best showings were early in the year, where it went to the Top Sportsman final twice, only to be eliminated by Dan Aitken Jr at Cayuga and Rob Gray at Martin, Michigan.
.
The RJ Race Cars Stratus is powered by a 604-cubic inch engine with B1 heads, a MagnaFuel Racing Fuel System, and an Induction Solutions two-stage nitrous system. A Hutch’s Transmission Service two-speed Powerglide  with an Abruzzi 10″ Converter behind the big-block. The car is capable of quarter-mile times in the high six-second range at speeds of just over 200 mph.
.
Wicke said the team has freshened up the engine for the new year, along with some chassis changes and adjustments to the nitrous system. He added the car is ready for racing, and plans to get some seat time in the Stratus before the start of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series opener.
 .
Crew chief for the team is once again Kevin Zimmer, and the rest of the team, Dan Culliton, Dennis Culliton, Derek Dotzert, Scott McCann, Kody and Kayden Wicke, will also be returning.
.
Sponsorship is provided by CVR Inc., Fraser Asphalt Paving, Perth Auto Dismantlers, Skully Bros. Metal Fabrication, Bear’s Performance Products, Ron’s Precision Machine and Fram Canada.
.
Aside from its two Quick 32 Sportsman Series championships, the team has numerous wins in IHRA competition, and will be focused on getting back to the winner’s circle in 2013.
 .
“Hopefully we will have better consistency this year,” said Wicke. “But it is a tough go. There are a lot of good guys out there.”
 .
K&K Racing will be ready for the Quick 23 Sportsman Series opener May 10-11 at Martin, Michigan, one of six races on tap this year.
 .
The Quick 32 Sportsman Series www.Quick32.ca will compete at all these events in conjunction with its companion series, the Pro Modified Racing Association, www.PMRA.ca, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series www.PBSS.ca, providing an exciting, colorful, and complete show of the best in drag racing action.
