Moss Gathers New Corvette!

Calgary’s Ken Mostowich is already one of the most highly regarded Sportsman drag racers based from Canada — but that notion will likely be further accentuated this racing season….

The owner and operator of Moss Fabrication has a new machine for his campaign – a truly mechanical marvel “flip top” Corvette Super Gas (9.90) car.

Mostowich in fact did debut the car late last season after taking delivery of it from car builder Hughes/DDRC (Phoenix AZ).

“This is in fact the very first project car finished by Jim Hughes and Kevin Kleinweber at Hughes/DDRC and they did a terrific job,” Ken revealed. “I had raced my other Corvette for about 11 years and the time had come to make a change in order to remain competitive.  I determined quickly that to do all the upgrades to that car would have been more expensive then just building a new car – so that is the route I went.”

“I went for another flip top Corvette – because it’s what I know best and a lot easier to work on,” Ken continued.  “But this one is loaded with a lot of new technology.  It’s about 8″ narrower and a lot more aerodynamic.”

Mostowich’s Corvette also has the latest in engine design – featuring a 584 CID engine by highly reputed Steve Schmidt (from Indianapolis).

“This engine program works awesome with a throttle stop,” Ken added.  “The engine RPM curve is dead flat which makes the car much easier to dial in.”

The Corvette also features a truly attractive paint scheme applied by Jeff Devey from House of Colours (Twin Falls Idaho).

Ken and his highly valued right hand man Charlie Marsh will in fact campaign two cars again in 2013 which may in the end prove to be their most aggressive season of racing together yet.

The multi-time NHRA winner will also continue to race his familiar Chevy Cavalier in 8.90 Super Comp trim.

Mostowich was quick to point out that his racing ventures would not be possible with Charlie with who he has been partnered with for 11 seasons now.

“Simply put Charlie does all the maintenance and transportation for the race cars,” Ken affirmed.  “Most of the time my business only allows me to get away for the race itself and he fills in all of the time between.  We are also good friends and compliment each other well  — and we are both Flames fans (LOL!).  I could not do this without him.”

Ken and Charlie are very serious and strategic about their drag racing for 2013.   Not only do they hope to add to their NHRA national event winning total (currently 3 with most recent victory being at NHRA Seattle last year) they are going to seriously chase top 10 finishes in NHRA Lucas Oil World Championship points both Super Gas and Super Comp categories.
