Transition is a constant within the Canadian drag racing scene and here are a few things to watch for now and coming soon….

Slick New ‘stang! — Canada’s most famous Pro Stock racing team – the Konigshofer Brothers — have unveiled their latest effort. This is our first look at their new 2018 Cobra which they took delivery of from car builder Jerry Haas only recently.  The team has outfitted it with their already proven 825 CID Jon Kaase engine program. Johnny K ran it for the first time at the 1/8th mile PDRA race in Virginia recently and clocked a 4.21 secs on it’s first full hit. (Photo Courtesy of: Geoff Sculley)

New Veale’s Wheels! — Canada’s highly competitive Jeff Veale Racing Team will have a new injected nitro car for NHRA TAD completion very soon. Gary and his son have acquired a former Top Fuel dragster chassis from Bobby Lagana Jr., and will be swapping in their powerful engine program into that car and frame soon. If all goes according to plan – the new combination will debut in Canada – and fans attending the Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex (Aug. 3-5) — will most likely be the first to see it run.

New North Star Car – Whitby Ontario’s Eric Latino is poised to take delivery of yet another new car — this time a brand new Tim McAmis-built Pro Mod Camaro. It will replace the awesome ’69 Chevelle which Eric has been racing this season, a temporary replacement used after crashing his record setting Pro Mod Camaro late last season. The new Camaro will be super trick and super light and will most likely debut during the NHRA Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Indy in late August.  (DragRaceCanada will post most details on Eric’s newest effort – coming soon!)

Some “Wild” News — Stratford Ontario’s Scott Wildgust – who is easily one of the most versatile and knowledgeable drag racers in all of Canada, will again be back behind the wheel of his own Pro Mod car – albeit a bit later this season. Scott who has most recently been playing a key role behind the very formidable TS and TD cars raced by Louis Ouimette and Diane Thiffeault (from Timmons ON) has confirmed to DragRaceCanada that G-Force Race Cars is building a brand new car for him. While we are sworn to some secrecy at this point — we can tell you it’s going to be supercharged and it’s going to be a ’67 Mustang GT500! (We will expand on all that as well as the timing — a little later on!)
