News from NHRA’s Summit Racing Eastern Canadian Division…

This season’s deciding round for the 2026 NHRA Summit Racing Series ET Championship series (for Eastern Canada) has been relocated.

This final and most important level event for regional Canadian ET Bracket racers has been announced for: Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park – Sep 4-5th.

Eastern Canadian track champions will thus coagulate at TMP — with the winners from that race qualifying to advance for the chance to compete for the overall NHRA Summit Racing World Championship title in 2026.

The winners of each of the four categories Super Pro, Pro ET, Motorcycle/Sled and Sportsman would represent Eastern Canada within the Summit ET World finals event held in Las Vegas, Oct 29-Nov. 1st.

After a prototype event during 2024 — the first official version of the Eastern Canadian ET Finals was held during 2025 presented by Luskville Dragway – last September.

“The plan is that the Canadian race (Eastern ET Finals) will move around year to year,” confirmed NHRA Canadian director Glenn Grow. “With TMP’s strong bracket racing core, they have been very supportive of the program over the years – always sending a good group down south to the NHRA D1 bracket finals. But now they have a chance to have it “at home”.

“The TMP racer base combined with some travelling visiting racers should give our bracket finals a shot in the arm it needs. It provides a fantastic opportunity for our Canadian ET racers to compete at the highest level.”

“Summit has committed to supporting Canadian racers with the expansion of the World Finals program,” Glenn added. “We think this is the best way we can thank them — with partcipaiton here.”

Glenn did clarify too that all racing would be 1/4 mile with the exception of Super Pro — being 1/8th mile. He also confirmed that the separate Summit Racing Junior ET Finals event would precede this race (also at TMP) August 28-29th.
