The very formidable Manitoba-based TAD racing team owned by Cliff Bakx was once again a dominating force within NHRA’s Lucas Oil Divisional action….
That Winnipeg homed team, which features driver Gord Gingles, opened their 2016 Divisional season campaign last weekend with a bang at Louisiana’s No Problem Raceway – coming away victorious.
Gingles, who was the number one qualifier (5.267 secs) worked his way through the field in a very speedy fashion to earn his fifth career divisional level event win.
In the final round battle of injected nitro cars, he ran a winning 5.319 seconds at 269.29 mph to defeat Megan Meyer, (from Kansas) who had a runner up lap of 5.358 seconds at 270.97 mph.
Prior to that he had defeated Darvin Martinets and Michael Manners with consecutive laps of 5.285 secs and 5.256 secs (low ET of the event).
“It was a great time, great people, and a great way to kick-off our points season,” said Clif Bakx.
The next scheduled event for this Manitoba racing group will be at the NHRA Lucas Oil Regional race at Indianapolis – Apr 29-31.
