Late season headlines are made from within Eastern Canada’s “Go-To” series for fast street car racing…The cool days of October came and with it the sunny skies for the final Canada Heads Up – Shootout Series event, presented by Speedwire Systems, Nash Competition Engines, Headrush Tattoo and Apparel and Miska Trailers (Oct. 3-4).

The series brought in another great show with the addition of Radial Outlaws and with it Dave Comstock (Daddy Dave) and his small tire Audi radial entry.

The fall air didn’t disappoint as many cars and classes saw drivers produce career best ETs and MPH throughout the final weekend.

That list included Super Street hitter Ralph Aulicino nailing a 4.19, Tyler Kranendonk dipped into the 4.3’s with his EZ Street new edge Mustang. Mickey Dinoo’s stout Stock Wheel Base Bike pass of 8.09 followed up by Jesse Vanbetlehem’s outstanding 6.75 at over 215 mph in Pro Bike trim rounded out the Pro Category’s heads-up class achievements.

The weekend affair also included a CHU series mathematical clinching performance from popular circuit driver Joe Muro (AKA “00 Joe) from Fort Erie ON.

Joe nailed down the most points for the Canada Heads Up – Street 275 class season championship racing his super consistent ’70 Camaro. Then just one week later, Muro put another layer of icing on that cake while touring south to the State of Georgia and winning a major title at the infamous 16th annual No Mercy event held at SGMP (Oct 12th). Joe Muro took his Camaro to victory within that races’ “Gangster X” 5.30 class – a highly competitive invitational event – which drew in over 60 cars for eliminations.

“This Camaro was built in 2019 by myself and my dad “Joe Sr.” who passed away shortly after,”Joe revealed. “Each year since it’s been upgraded to be lighter and faster with the help from many friends.”

Joe Muro (AKA “00 Joe) – had an extremely impressive month of October racing his ’70 Camaro.

Joe has progressed the Camaro from the 6.50 index in 2022 (CHP Championship winning season), then the 6.00 index in 2023 to Street 275 (3rd place in CHU 2024) and  now to Canada Heads Up Street 275 champion in 2025.

Muro also campaigns his car in the 550 index racing when he can now and then.

“The 5.30 “lil gangster” class is well known all over North America,” he added. “Duckx Production – presented Gangster X-Class at No Mercy 16 — it was a 62-car field and our first time at this race. We’e pretty proud that we went out and won everything!

“I’d like to thank my family sponsors and crew, specifically Archer traffic control driven autoworks, detailing McKeough Supply St. Catharines and BGF Photography. Also to my mom Kim, my wife Jody and my daughter Jolia.”

Joe’s support and crew comes from Mike Mizuto, Dion Potestio, Jeff Van Beek, Carl Spiering and Darren Thibodaux.

He offered up a special thank you to his engine builder Potestio (Precision Automotive Machine). “Dion built us a killer 565 nitrous Big Block Chevy!” he stated.
