Cownden Seeks 2nd Championship Title

Victoria B.C. Canada based Damian Cownden Racing makes the 1250 mile trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway as they battle for the NBRA Top Fuel Harley-Davidson drag racing championship……

Fresh off winning the Canadian Top Fuel Championship (CMDRA) the team looks forward to taking on Canadian and American teams in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas event has the potential to draw the largest, and deepest field of competitors of any North American event this season.  The event is expected to attract not only 2011 CMDRA Champion Cownden, but, and 2011 International Hot Rod Association Champion Steve Dorn.  Along with current champions, multi-time IHRA and AHDRA champ, Jay Turner, and CMDRA Pro Fuel Champion Mike Pelrine is entered.

A true race of champions, the event has become a test of the best riders in North America as they descend upon The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway November 4 through 6.  The Nitro Bike Racers Association will crown their 2011 champion in a points battle with Damian Cownden, Steve Dorn, Jay Turner, Tommy Grimes, and Joey Sternotti, all having a chance to win.

The team hopes to take home its second championship of 2011, the team will then cap off their season by competing in the Manufacturers Cup in Valdosta, Georgia.  The Valdosta event is known to set numerous speed records, which the team will attempt to do, after setting a new Canadian speed record this season.
