The Top Sportsman class in the X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) will have outstanding backing as the new 1/8-mile sanctioning body prepares for its inaugural season.

The X-DRL officially announced on Thursday that Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels will be the official sponsor for the Top Sportsman class for the 2013 X-DRL season, which begins on April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.

The class will officially be called Mickey Thompson Tires Top Sportsman, as one of the industry leaders in tires and wheels forms a new and growing partnership with the X-DRL.

“We really like the direction the X-DRL is headed and we are excited to partner with the X-DRL and sponsor the Top Sportsman class in 2013,” Mickey Thompson Motorsports Manager Tom Kundrik said. “The Top Sportsman racers are a perfect fit in the X-DRL as the class offers a lot of terrific racing, and we are pleased to show our support for the Top Sportsman teams and the X-DRL this season.
