VP Racing Fuels, Inc., announced its “Octanium” octane booster is now available at select AutoZone stores across the U.S. One of the performance chemicals in VP’s “Madditive®” product line, VP Octanium is an octane concentrate for off-road use that increases octane up to 8 numbers, the largest increase of any octane booster on the market.
“It’s a real vote of confidence that AutoZone has chosen to stock a new product like Octanium, given that the performance chemical category has suffered in the past from exaggerated hype or misleading product claims,” said Bruce Hendel. “For example, many octane boost products claim increases in terms of octane ‘points,’ when a point is nothing more than 1/10th of an octane ‘number.’ Using points allows them to report gains with bigger numbers, but it’s misleading to customers who don’t recognize the difference between a point and a number.”

Although Octanium is not being stocked at every AutoZone location, it’s available at 1,460 of them. If a customer can’t find it at their local store, we encourage them to ask their store manager to stock it.”
In addition to increasing a fuel’s octane rating, Octanium reduces knocking and pinging, cleans fuel injectors, and improves throttle response and acceleration. One quart bottle treats up to 10 gallons.
