Prolific Quebec-based Top Sportsman racer Luc Angers has a nice score last weekend while racing in New Jersey….
Luc Angers raced his potent 2006 Pontiac all the way to victory lane during last weekend’s MXI/Magnaflux Top Sportsman portion of NHRA’s Lucas Oil Northeast Division One event held at Atco NJ.
Angers managed 25 other racers in that feature when he delivered a perfect 6.780 secs run (6.78 dial in) at 205.76 mph to defeat the nitrous injected Henry J raced by Jeff Brooks in the championship final round. Brooks broke out by a narrow 6.819 secs margin (6.82 dial in).
Luc had qualified #4 for the program (6.726 secs) and had taken the measure of opponents John Taylor, David Miller, John Martin and Vonnie Mills during earlier competition round.
This Angers’ win is but the latest feather in his racing cap, as he is no stranger to success with this particular race car which he first debuted back in 2011. Driving it, Angers had previously claimed overall season points championships in NHRA’s National Event Open series (in 2013) and he was also the 2016 season champ for the Napa/Ultimate Showdowns.
