DANNY ROWE NAMED AS MR. HORSEPOWER OF PRO MOD RACING
By: Wes Buck
Mr. Horsepower and Danny Rowe, owner and driver of the Sterling Bridge 1967 Camaro Pro Modified are looking forward to 2011 with high expectations. Rowe, who closed out the 2010 Get Screened America NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series season as No. 2 in the world, was a natural choice to be the Pro Mod representative of the iconic cigar chomping Mr. Horsepower woodpecker apparel brand….
Rowe, who is originally from Calgary but who now resides in California, has cemented his status as the perennial front runner and championship contender, qualifying in the Top 5 at six of ten events this season, winning the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, as well as amassing numerous round wins. Danny Rowe and company are looking to build on their success in 2011, and are excited to have Mr. Horsepower and title sponsor Sterling Bridge on board.
NHRA officials recently announced the 10-race 2011 Get Screened America NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series schedule adding the 12th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas to the tour’s regular stops including Houston, Atlanta, Englishtown, Bristol, Norwalk, Indianapolis and Charlotte. The touring series will make a second stop at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the season-ending event in October. Mr. Horsepower Danny Rowe and the Sterling Bridge Pro Modified team will be doing battle with as many as 26 of the 250-mph doorslammers next season.
