Laporte Team Breaks Important Barrier

A “shout out”  is in order to the Canadian-based Top Fuel racing team owned by John Laporte (Bowmanville, ON).   John’s ever improving team cracked an important performance milestone last weekend during the NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMax Dragway in North Carolina.   At that race driver Ike Maier drove the car to it’s first ever sub 4 secs run hitting a 3.990 secs at 308.43 mph.   While the lap was solid it unfortunately did just fall short of the event bump (3.981 secs).  It did however prove again that the race team, which had another career best 4.017 secs at Indy the week before, is certainly headed in the right direction.  

The team’s next race will be at Reading PA in early October…..(BB)
