Team Kalitta Announces New Partnership with Kid Rock’s “Made In Detroit”; Launches New Apparel Line and Web Store…….Kalitta Motorsports, one of the most successful and world renowned teams in the history of NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) drag racing, announced today that it has partnered with the “Made In Detroit” apparel company to launch a new line of Kalitta Motorsports-themed apparel which is now available for purchase on the team’s website, www.teamkalitta.com.
The partnership brings together two legends of Detroit, known worldwide as the “Motor City” – Drag racing pioneer and team owner of Kalitta Motorsports Connie “the Bounty Hunter” Kalitta and music recording artist and international superstar Kid Rock, who owns the Made In Detroit brand which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2011.
“It’s cool to have Made in Detroit apparel hitting the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series with Kalitta Motorsports,” Thomas Dubak, President of Made in Detroit, said. “Connie Kalitta is an icon in the racing world and together we help keep jobs in Michigan, that’s what it’s all about. Made In Detroit decals now adorn all of the nitro-fueled racers of Kalitta Motorsports including the Technicoat Top Fuel dragster driven by Doug Kalitta, the Kalitta Air Top Fuel dragster driven by David Grubnic, the DHL Toyota Camry Funny Car driven by Jeff Arend, and the Tequila Patrón Toyota Camry Funny Car driven by Alexis DeJoria.

Connie’s nephew, Doug Kalitta, drives the Kalitta Air Top Fuel dragster entry while Dave Grubnic drives the team’s second Top Fueler under the banner of Kalitta Air as well. Connie serves as head tuner for all Team Kalitta entries. He is assisted by crew chief Jim Oberhofer and assistant crew chief Troy Fasching on Doug’s Top Fueler and by co-crew chiefs Jon Oberhofer and Nick Boninfante on the DHL Funny Car. Oberhofer also serves as crew chief for the Tequila Patrón team. Connie serves as crew chief on the Grubnic-driven racer with help from assistant crew chief James Riola.
