One of Canada’s highest potential young gun developing racers climbs to next level…
Burford Ontario’s “Flyin’ Ryan” Harris is now moved into the starting blocks to run — Top Alcohol Dragster — class racing in 2026.
The KHR team member who has been piloting the teams “long and skinny” supercharged dragster this past season (primarily in T/D) has confirmed he will make the jump to run the IHRA Top Alcohol Dragster category for the 2026 racing season. KHR is setting their sites on running the full IHRA season while making a run for a championship.
Ryan states “We’re beyond excited to announce that I will be competing with the IHRA in the Top Alcohol Dragster class at all events contested for the 2026 racing season. Changes are in full swing and with full support of the KHR team, it will be an exciting step forward for me personally and for KHR racing brand as whole.”
“With IHRA making the decision to run 1/8th mile at all of their events in 2026 — played a part in this decision,” he affirmed. “We have heard good things from many competitors that ran the series in 2025 and we are looking forward to competing with some of the best racers in the Top Alcohol Dragster category in 2026.”
Despite being only 18 years old – Ryan’s drag racing credentials have been already impressive within both Junior Dragster and then Top Dragster circuit racing. Ryan, after earning multiple event wins within Cayuga Dragway’s RCSS Series early in his racing career, did transition to the PDRA Pro Junior Dragster category in 2018 where he quickly made an impact as both a #1 qualifier and major event winner there. In 2025 – in T/D – he honed his skills further within the Quick 32 Sportsman Racing Series — qualifying #1 at 3 out of 4 races and then finished 2nd in final season championship points. Ryan also collected his first T/D event win last summer — earning a coveted “Wally” at the NHRA National Open held at Toronto Motorsports Park.
Ryan is both excited for this opportunity and fully credits his family and sponsors for making it happen.
“My passion for racing has been fuelled by my family’s unwavering support, and the sponsors who have helped me achieve success,” he continued. My Dad (Kyle Harris – the 2024 PDRA Elite Top Dragster World Champion) has been my guide all along — ensuring our cars are race ready and sharing his invaluable expertise. I enjoy learning and working on his race car too alongside him. My amazing Mom (Jennie Harris) is the heart of our team, keeping us organised and energised — with her incredible support. My sister (Cristina Johnson) was my first mentor in racing she competed in Junior Dragsters before me. She inspired my journey with her guidance and example.”
The KHR team has been supported by incredible cast of sponsors and supporters – which they cite both for their past successes and now for going forward into the future. That lising includes primary DFS Projects, Double O Permits and Project Services Inc, Atchison Machine Services, Harquip, Fast Eddie Racewear, Tri County Sandblasting, Boogie Man and Company & Red Line Motorsports Media.
KHR racing will continue a long time partnership and association with DragRaceCanada.com too — once again for 2026.
“The DragRaceCanada.com platform produces extensive articles for Canadian drag racing and within that has been highlighting our journey and providing valued exposure for sponsors,” added Kyle Harris. “Collaborating with DragRaceCanada.com offers an excellent opportunity for sponsors to increase their visibility in motorsports.
