Ontario’s Scott Wildgust and the Smokies Garage Drag Racing team prevail in Michigan….

Scott Wildgust claimed career NMCA event win #2 last weekend at Northern Michigan’s fabled US 131 Motorsports Park.

Driving his supercharged 2022 Chevy Camaro, Scott came away a victor from the NMRA/NMCA Power Festival event when he prevailed in the VP Racing Fuels XTreme Pro Mod class category over 14 other entries.

After qualifying 2nd (3.635 secs) Scott won the four round affair while using an impressive string of mid 3.6 secs elapsed times.

Scott Wildgust and the Smokies Garage team had an impressive NMCA circuit winning weekend in Michigan.

After defeating R. Vandenwoode, Todd Tutterrow and Jim Windener in the first three rounds — Scott faced off against Mike DiDomenico for the event’s championship title.  And it was Wildgust winning that decisively recording his quickest time of eliminations at 3.636 secs at 205.95 mph to defeat DiDomenico’s 3.761 secs.

For the talented group this XPM win duplicated their previous circuit win which came during the 2022 season opening NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem held in Bradenton Florida.

As scheduling will have it — the team will now in fact try to duplicate their efforts one more time at the same facility this coming weekend.  With some momentum and track knowledge most certainly firmly on their side they will be pre-race Pro Boost class favourites entering the PDRA’s Northern Nationals (also at US 131 Motorsports Park).
