After being born from rather humble beginnings — the CSCS continues it’s fast venture forward..…

It’s now very safe to say — the CSCS (Canadian Sport Compact Series) is well established and recognized as a home for very fast import car racing in Canada.

And within it’s rather innovative structure, this group which is in effect a bi-product of Toronto Motorsport Park’s overall motorsports diversity, includes a broad band of opportunity for it’s dedicated participants.

The CSCS umbrella not only features drag racing but also includes cool alternatives;  Time Attack (road racing), Drifting championships and Show & Shine events.

“The CSCS originated as a drag series and show & shine event,” revealed Cory Chaplin, the CSCS’s technical director of drag racing.  “We  have expanded bit by bit as the (15+) seasons have passed.  While most of our events are hosted at our home track, Toronto Motorsports Park, the CSCS has been well traveled since establishment in 2003.  Since then we have visited and run events elsewhere such as Grand Bend Motorplex, St. Thomas Dragway, Napierville, Sanair, Shannonville, Dunnville, iCAR, and Mosport DDT.”

For drag racing the CSCS offers 8 class categories for competition — all on a 1/4 mile basis.  That includes Pro Sport Compact, Pro 8, Pro Limited, Super Street, Street Modified, Pure Street, Speed Trials and Test and Tune.

The CSCS has announced it’s season schedule for 2019 and that includes four drag racing events : three at TMP/Cayuga Dragway and one at Grand Bend Motorplex.

“We do pride ourselves as being a grassroots series,” Cory added.  “But for sure with a competitive environment that brings together some of the best cars and drivers in the Canadian Sport Compact motorsports community and including our many friends from south of the border.”
