Eastern Canadian Season Opener – Looms!

TMP Cayuga to host opening rounds for PMRA, Napa Quick 32 and PBSS circuits — May 20-22nd…

The opening rounds in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series are all set to take place May 20-22 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
The Victoria Day Weekend Challenge will feature a weekend of non-stop drag racing action. The event will mark the beginning of the seventh season of PMRA Pro Modified racing, the third season for the popular Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and the inaugural race in the new PBSS presented by Wiseco Performance Products for motorcycles and snowmobiles.
The weekend event will be the first of six races for all three drag race series in 2011.
“We’re going to have a great, well-rounded show of drag racing for the fans,” said Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for the three series. “We have a lot of new teams for 2011, and they will be trying to keep pace with our well established and highly competitive competitors. It will be a good weekend.”
Complimenting the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS racing will be events in the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series, the TNT Hot Rod Series, a visit by the Harley Davidson Destroyers, and Jet Car racing.
The weekend gets underway Friday May 20 with test and tuning sessions and weekend camping.
The first of three qualifying sessions for the PBSS begins at 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 21, followed by qualifying for PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series entries, with the final session scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Eliminations are to take place starting at 11:15 a.m. for the first round of Quick 32 Sportsman Series contestants Sunday May 22. The racing continues with the ERD (Engine Research & Development) Consolation Race for the PMRA. After this session, eliminations in all three series take place, with the final rounds scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
