NHRA’s defending E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod World Champ scores “wide ranging” win…..

Western New York’s Mike Janis, the reigning world champion in the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service, collected his first victory of the season during the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals (presented by SMP Racing).

Racing his powerful AAP-sponsored Chevy Camaro Janis earned his 6th career visit to NHRA victory lane when his run of 5.799-seconds at 248.52 mph was the quickest for the event’s final “quad”.  This final win light of the day came over a fierce grouping of cars which included runner-up Rickie Smith, Steve Jackson and Eric Enders.

“This Four-Wide is so unpredictable and I knew we had a good chance of winning, but you never know at a race like this,”said Janis. “My son (Mike Janis Jr.) and my whole team worked real hard for this one and I’m really proud to be standing here in the winner circle.”
