Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway once again presented one of Canada’s most popular “one day wonder” events and we have some photo highlights….

After getting rained out for the initially scheduled Wednesday, the 2016 “Hot August Night” event was re-scheduled to run the following day (on August 11th).  Following a brief early evening shower the skies cleared and the fans tuned in to an amazing show of drag racing.

On the property that evening were exhibition vehicles of various types along with both nitro burning and alcohol burning dragsters, funny cars and bikes.  The fans were treated to a Nitro Bike versus Funny Car match race with “Joker” Andy Beauchemin vs. “The Judge” Cal Tebb — and the “Joker” prevailing that night.  An impressive fireworks display was witnessed by the crowd after the sun went down.
